Governor Appoints Lyda Chair of the Council of Advisors on Consumer Credit
Governor Hickenlooper has tapped Mark Lyda to serve as Chair of Colorado's Council of Advisors on Consumer Credit. The Council advises the attorney general's office on consumer credit issues and has the authority to approve or repeal final rules under the Uniform Consumer Credit Code (UCCC). The UCCC governs payday lenders and other types of consumer lenders. Lyda is currently serving his second three-year term as a member of the Council.
As Chair, Lyda will work closely with the UCCC Administrator and will have the authority to appoint subcommittee members for rule making. In the appointment letter, Governor Hickenlooper stated that Lyda's "leadership skills will move the Council forward in protecting Colorado citizens."
